Cost estimate - first year operation

Angola is one of the most tragically mined countries, with an estimated 15,000,000 mines. With today's technology used, it will take more than 200 years to clear the country, if no new mines are being laid and if our technology is not used. HLDF system could solve the Angolan mine problem in ten years with the assistance of about 800 Angolan soldiers and adequate financial support.

The cost for clearing mines ranges from $ US 300 to $ US 1,000 per mine. HLDF's objective is to reduce the cost to as low as $ US 150 after our system is in place and operating with Angolan military troops assistance.

The availability of funding sources for landmine clearance is well documented, and several such sources are aware of the HDLF proposed activities and have committed their financial support pending a successful demonstration.
